Counseling can be a remarkable journey towards a new life. My goal as a counselor is to meet you where you are with empathy, sensitivity, and communication you can relate to, while moving towards your heartfelt values. The result may be increased courage, resiliency, self-compassion, and the ability to live a happier, more meaningful life.
I use an integrative approach, meeting your needs by listening with an open mind and heart, not parroting others, and by offering ways in which to free yourself from your limitations and increase your ability to find solutions to your life’s difficulties. I work with adults in individual and couples therapy.
In every situation, I work respectfully with you where you are in your life, and as you are in this moment.
Challenges:
In my practice, I work with clients who are experiencing, but not limited to:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Stress
- Grief and loss
- Difficulty creating a meaningful life
- Feelings of emptiness or isolation
- Relationship issues (marriage, separation, divorce, work, family, friends, siblings, etc.)
- Family-of-origin issues
- Self-esteem issues
- Recent or past trauma
- Life transition and adjustment challenges
- Personal growth issues
I also welcome addressing any questions you may have about life generally, as well as personally. For some, this is a very important aspect of their lives and consequently a valuable part of the therapeutic process. This work has helped many clients integrate deeper experiences and questions into their daily lives by offering or supporting a different lens through which to view it.
My curiosity about meaning and life affected my decision to become a therapist, which began decades ago with my love of doing inner work. As a result of this focus, I found that life – just as it is, even during difficult times, has inherent meaning and even joy. This sense of aliveness is still the basis of my path. It influences the work I do with my clients and the way I live my life.
